We’re thrilled to share our latest study, just published in Hippocampus!

In this work, we explored how enhancing a specific type of GABA receptor—called the α5-GABAA receptor—can influence adult neurogenesis in the hippocampus, a brain region critical for learning, memory, and mood regulation.

Using our compound GL-II-73, we found that chronic treatment boosts the birth and maturation of new neurons, matching the effects of fluoxetine (a commonly used antidepressant). These findings suggest that α5-GABAA receptor modulation may offer a new path to promote brain plasticity and support mental health.
